How It Works

Let’s Get Active Junior programme is a variation of our tried and tested adult “Let’s Get Active” programme. The principle of the programme is that all participants are given 12 weeks of varied activities with a personal trainer attached offering one to one support. The 12 weeks gives the participants the chance to try different activities, see and feel a difference within themselves and hopefully continue with a healthier lifestyle. At the end of the 12 weeks, you can choose activities of your choice for a nominal fee.

Removing Barriers

A recent report showed Oldham as having the highest obesity rates. Our programme tackles this concern by removing as many barriers to participation as possible.

What To Expect

Sports

There’s a huge choice of sports & fitness activities including, Boxing, Zumba, Dance, Football, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Kabaddi, etc. You can take part as a hobby or choose to excel in your chosen sport with opportunities to compete in tournaments and competitions around the country.

We have successfully delivered the Programme for the last 3 years with funding from BBC Children in Need. Over 300 young people benefitted from the project which created peer mentors, young volunteers, national champions.

Sports is a universal language and brings people together. It’s NOT about what activity or sports participants choose. It’s about discipline, being part of the wider community, meeting new people, making new friends, sharing new experiences, learning new skills, increasing their confidence, staying fit and active, leading a healthy lifestyle and continuing into adulthood.
