Our programme is an example of real community engagement in populations that have been difficult to access. It represents effective value for money by initiating a change of habits throughout patient communities; improving mental and physical health, and making use of council-owned buildings, and reducing the reliance on health care services. The extraordinary improvement in mental health shown from this programme indicates its success in reaching out to previously hard-to-engage-with communities, who now feel heard and supported.
